Terms of use

1. The Service

Focus Rent is rental-management software for landlords and agencies: leases, alerts and reminders, dashboards, payment tracking (including Mobile Money), tenant SMS, maintenance and jobs.

2. Access and accounts

2.1. Creating an account

You must create an account with accurate, up-to-date information. Verification may be required.

2.2. Account security

You are responsible for your credentials and account activity. Report any unauthorised use. Focus Rent is not liable for losses caused by your failure to protect the account.

2.3. Plans

The Service is offered as Starter, Business and Premium plans, as described on the pricing page. Features depend on the plan you buy.

3. Use of the Service

3.1. Licence

You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence under these terms and your plan.

3.2. Restrictions

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for illegal or unauthorised purposes.
• Modify, reverse-engineer or decompile the Service.
• Bypass security measures.
• Use bots or automated access without permission.
• Overload or disrupt the infrastructure.
• Access other users’ accounts without authorisation.

3.3. Your content

You are responsible for data you enter (properties, contracts, tenants, payments). You warrant that you have the rights to process it, including tenants’ personal data.

4. Intellectual property

The Service, its content, code and the Focus Rent brand belong to Focus Rent or its licensors. These terms transfer no ownership.

5. Fees and payment

5.1. Subscriptions

The Service is paid monthly or yearly, according to the plan. Prices are on the website.

5.2. Payment

Payment uses methods we accept, including Mobile Money. You authorise charges for your plan.

5.3. Price changes

Prices may change after notice, from the next billing period.

5.4. Trial

A free trial may be offered, sometimes limited. A paid plan is then required to continue.

6. Privacy

Data processing is described in the Privacy policy. Using the Service means you agree to that policy.

7. Specific features

7.1. Mobile Money

Focus Rent facilitates Mobile Money payments but is not the payment operator. Operator terms apply.

7.2. SMS

You are responsible for SMS content and for complying with electronic-communications and data-protection rules for your tenants.

8. Disclaimer

The Service is provided “as is”. Focus Rent does not warrant uninterrupted, error-free or fully secure operation.

9. Limitation of liability

To the extent allowed by law, Focus Rent is not liable for indirect losses (profits, data, use or goodwill) arising from use of the Service, third-party content or unauthorised access. Total liability is limited to amounts you paid Focus Rent in the 12 months before the claim.

10. Termination

Focus Rent may suspend or terminate access for a serious breach of these terms, without refunding the remaining period.

11. Changes to these terms

We may change these terms. Material changes will be announced at least 30 days ahead when reasonable. Continued use means acceptance.

12. Governing law

Cameroon law. Disputes: competent courts of Douala, Cameroon.
